NIGHT 048

|| Night 048: GENERAL

Night comes suddenly upon the house, the hour of twilight seeming to vanish almost as quickly as it arrives.

Strangely, the halls are quiet, only a flicker of light and presence hovering for a moment before they are gone again. Though quiet doesn't mean safe-- the second house is destroyed, and so are the portions of houses most closely connected to where the second house once stood. Where once there was floor and dirt there is only earth crumbling away into darkness, subsumed by a bottomless pit from which nothing will return. The entire third house begins to crumble and fall into the gaping maw below the houses, leaving those houseguests left inside stranded at best and facing certain death at worst.

The Seedy Bar is one place that has survived untouched. But Dave seems wary. He watches those who come and go with a quiet trepidation. He seems to understand what's coming.

Wraiths slowly billow out of the hole that sits where the fallen houses used to stand. They don't seem particularly aggressive tonight, but there are suddenly dozens of them. They seem aimless, though those closest to the first house seem to have a direction in mind: the dead centre of the house, where things are happening.

No other monsters are out tonight, although there may be glimpses of feral deer or hunters outside in the distance.

The twins vanish with tiny gasps, and the Ballroom suddenly seems full to bursting with people laying supine, hands clasped at their chests. The only ones that seem unaffected are Lock and Joseph. A ring of Phantasms stands around the ballroom. The wraiths seem unwilling to pass these sentinels.

The door on the floor cracks open, and there is a gust of wind that reaches even the furthest corners of the houses.
