DAY 020

|| THREAT DOWN
|| DAY 020: GENERAL

|| CASTLE

The Tyger lounges in the museum, lifting its head to track anyone entering with empty eye sockets. It is not aggressive, and seems to be studying those who pass through with far more intelligence than it usually displays. 23

The Guards who normally patrol the staircases to the upper floor of the castle have left their posts. The Third Floor is now open to explore.

The choreboard on the wall of the Common Room reflects this. Underneath the usual lists of assignments, there is a note that those who help clean the third floor in addition to their usual duties will be rewarded with extra pay. Those who go up to the third floor to cause trouble, on the other hand, will be punished ‘swiftly and with severity’.

Someone has scrawled a large message across the wall near the corner of the Side Hallway. The letters are bold and dark, painted with some type of black ink.

Where have my friends gone?

|| GARDENS AND YARD

There is a body in the stable, swinging from a beam. The arms are limp, the eyes open and staring. For those who have met him before, it is clearly the Stable Boy.

The Baby Gryphons are crouched at his feet, the male creaking a small, distressed sounding cry.

A large percentage of the Guards have congregated around the stables. They are notably very alert but seem preoccupied, pacing restlessly around the area and silently communicating amongst themselves. They will keep a close watch over anyone who enters the stables, and particularly anyone who approaches the body.

|| THE TOWN

The town seems quiet today, with the townsfolk going about their business, carefully minding the occasional guard checking through; they seem shaken, wary, and rattled throughout the day, the mood subdued.

The great bogey has been quiet since its conversation and meal. However, shortly before dawn, it bursts from the monastery. Despite the best efforts of the returning Monks and Treasa, the creature escapes the churchyard, making a run through the town and out of the keep's gate. Anyone sleeping in town during this period will suffer gruesome nightmares.

|| THE RUINS

Outside in the Ruins, translucent figures of people wearing local dress roam the wreckage, seeming to go about daily business as though the city were still intact. The figures are incorporeal and do not seem aware of anyone in the ruins, or even the state of the wreckage, occasionally walking through rubble as though it weren’t there or interacting with objects that no longer exist.
