That's up to you -- if it is a canon 'tic', as it were, to have them speaking in a certain way or struggling you could argue it is a cognition issue that the house cannot overcome, and therefore they still struggle. IE the house is translating to a language that is normally universal for them, perhaps, but they still struggle as they always have.

Or, if you prefer, you can instead choose to decide the house is translating to something they understand and everything is a whole lot easier!
