The clock in the Parlor begins to sound the hour, though the chimes are muffled by the water around it. As the noise reverberates, foul smelling black smoke bubbles up from beneath it, and the water around it begins to boil.
The Phantasms have appeared around the outside of the houses, floating just above the water, pale and nearly luminescent as they seem to assess the damage. If one should wish to risk it, it seems as though it might be possible to speak to them.
None of those trapped within the Ballroom move, though all seem to hunker down just a little as the noise rattles its way through the house.
The full moon sets, turning the seawater to liquid silver for a moment as it settles on the horizon, casting distant landmasses into shadow.
The noises fade, the night continues.
