|| NIGHT 026: GENERAL
As the first chime of night resonates though the house, the house-guests will feel the return of the intense nausea that started the morning.
The feeling is overwhelming, quickly sucking them under once more.
Those in the First House will hear the sound of a woman screaming loudly enough that it overwhelms the sounds of the chime.
A single word will make itself known, shouted over the second chime. "ROSE!"
Those on the First Floor of the First House will feel someone run into them, and hear the sound of running footsteps, but attempts to grab whatever just ran past them will prove futile.
The distant sound of thunder can be heard for just a moment between the second and third chimes.
Everyone in the house will feel a resurgence of dizziness, sending them into the deepest darkness of unconsciousness. When they wake it will be to find that even the echoes have faded from the clock, and their vision has returned. They will feel as though they have been unconscious for only seconds, but as they wake it will seem as though they rested much longer, as though hours have ticked by and left the food in their bags moldering with it.
The heat has broken, and a storm rages outside the windows, sending pellets of ice against the glass and roof. Frost covers every window, and compared to the baking heat of the day, the night is nearly arctic. Those who have shed layers of clothes will find that they will quickly need to gather them again.
The night around them is complete, no lamps lighted to show them the way.
Though the start of the night was quick, the night that the guests find themselves in is almost disturbingly quiet. The Hellhounds remain eager companions, seeming pleased that those they have befriended can once more see the world. But the night has not returned them to any sort of threat; instead they seem almost playful as the cold overtakes the house.
With the onset of cold in the house, those who ate the offerings might find it harder to notice the difference, but some minute amount of warmth has come back to them. While fighting or running, however, they will find that they become short of breath more easily. Perhaps in some kind of balance for this fact, most monsters seem unsure what to make of them. Remaining too long in their presence will still cause them to attack, but they are undecided at first. Ghosts, however, do not seem to be fooled.
The Sensitives will find some ease to the sense of filth on their bodies. Without their sweat it is not as palpable, but instead exists as a sense of dust and sand that will not wash off no matter what they try. Slowly, over the night, it will seem as though it slowly peels away from their bodies, crumbling off of them in patches that spread with a violent itch.
The safe rooms tonight are the Student Bedroom, the Wallpapered Parlour, the Seedy Bar and the Velvet Room.
