|| Day 034: GENERAL
Day draws in sluggishly, the light filtering into the houses in hesitant increments -- as if reluctant to try and penetrate the darkness. It creeps its way through each room, and as the daylight hits guests they will notice their costumes appear to vanish. Only the clothing they began with remains, and the mask is nothing more than the plain piece of cloth it started as. The urge to keep wearing it seems to fade down to nothing more than a niggle, one easily ignored if they so wish. In its place, however, something else rises to the fore. As guests look around, their doubt will began to rise. There is nothing left of their costumes. So, what proof have they that these things ever existed? Did this ever at all happen? How can they be sure of what is true? Of course, their friends share this memory, but their friends share strange dreams with them too. How can they be sure, really, of anything at all? The Grey Maids have vanished with the night, the Unnatural Servant gone from the bar, the Perfume Lady has ceased singing and gone back to wherever ghosts go. For all the guests know, they were never there at all.
In the light of day the mask may not look as glamorous or strange as before, but it still has its own influence if they choose to wear it. Their behaviour will still adapt the way it had when costumed, inner parts of them amplified and drawn out, but now it is easier to remove.
Unless, of course, you like feeling like that.
In the First House remains dark despite the sun's rising, the chains still blocking windows and light sources. Just within the Day Room Estella sits on the floor, black dog at her feet. The Lantern is resting between them, exuding a circle of light which the chains seem reluctant to encroach upon. She looks back toward the Floating Hallway every so often with a frown, eyeing the chains and the way they try to creep around her toward it. The dog raises its head occasionally to look with her, considering something.
Don has returned to life, reappearing in the Gallery as normal. He seems, however, eager to leave this area.
Within the Third House the Herbal Bedroom is now devoid of its occupant, but the smell of fresh herbs and soil is pervasive regardless. A plant sits growing on the desk, unfamiliar but somehow heady despite its lack of blooms. The leaves are soft to the touch, as if slightly furred, and the scent lingers on fingers that have touched it -- bringing an odd smile to the guests who have inhaled it. Everything seems much better, and warmer too.
In the Birdcage Room, a sense of calm has returned, if only for the lack of intimidating shadow lurking in the corner. The beast or man that had haunted the edge of the room, ready to swing its club with rage at any who entered and attempted to approach the child and the bird. Any who approach this spot will find a strange, pungent smell just in the corner, like sweat lingering over another, unidentifiable scent, but this remains the only sign that anyone or anything was ever there at all. Except, of course, that sometimes the guests can spot something moving through the shadows.
The ghost child has disappeared as well, but with the disappearance of these two guardians the cage in the centre has become more accessible, though it remains locked. Whatever uncertain state of the creature within from the night before as disappeared, leaving only a large white heron. The bird is conscious, though fleetingly, chest rising and falling as it labours through the pain. The broken wing has been bandaged and tended. It at least seems to have helped.
Cloud wakes in one of the cages in this room as well, the door solidly locked and his sword leaning against the wall across the room. Someone has left a beaded necklace wrapped around his hand, the beads shiny and white. The room is otherwise empty.
The child in the Stables, however, does not seem to have recovered much from his previous night's injuries. He is still bloody and shies away from any and all touch, seemingly distrustful. His mask has been pulled back down to his face; it remains in the guise of a fox.
The mood in the Silk Bedroom has shifted, though there is no change in numbers. Victoria has departed, but Calem has made his way into this room to join Hana in her place. He rests his head on her breast, eyes closed as he lets her stroke through his hair. Both seem completely content to remain in that position, though they will not turn away visitors.
The Wax Man sits at the desk of the Gentleman's Room. He seems rather focused on the papers on his desk, where he is sketching. Certain images re-appear in the drawings almost obsessively, especially the face of a smiling young girl.
In the Fourth House the path to the Seedy Bar is a lot cleaner, but the bar itself is no more welcome than it was during the night. A few tables and chairs have been overturned, and everything feels strangely grimy. As if it has not been cleaned for some time, the floor a little tacky with each step. The Shadow Man has ceased to haunt the place, but his chess board has been left behind. The pieces appear locked in a stalemate.
A closer inspection reveals that the smell of blood that began here not only now lingers, but has a more obvious source. Flecks of blood cover the counter, and stepping behind it reveals several broken glasses and a congealing pool of it darkening. The smell is overpowering, but there is no sign of whatever the source may be.
Victoria is in the Fifth House, cautiously exploring the dilapidated building. She seems extremely nervous.
The entire building seems darker, somehow, and it is difficult to stay there long without beginning to feel terribly alone.

She would also like to see Estella to continue their CR, maybe thread/has some questions to ask her about things.
Cait also said to drop a note here since Ami would try to clean up some of the bar mess - carefully, of course.
Eilonwy - would like to visit the boy in the stables since she and Jamie would have tried to help him some during the night. maybe talk a bit this time.

And he would like the Doctor to meet Victoria for reasons, but also is going to keep an eye out for her just to check up on her and make sure she's all right.

Re: NPC requests!
I'm debating having Trance meet Estella. How many NPCs can she not-speak-English with? Why do I torture myself (and the mods) so? Great mysteries of life, truly.
