MIDNIGHT 009

The fog outside seems to thicken, the humidity rising until there is condensation on any cool surface; for a few moments, the night grows silent.

Then, with a peal of thunder, it begins raining, the water rattling off the windows of the castle and town. The fog lightens somewhat, but persists through it, remaining with a supernatural stubbornness, even with the occasional lightning flash lighting the night. The wraiths seem to have a distaste for the rain, lingering near walls and buildings when not tracking prey, but it does not seem to be deterring their presence.

The Gardens, however, seem to respond to the rain by emboldening their attempt at overgrowing; while they do not gain much headway, they do manage to claim the wall around the garden, pushing the gargoyles more into the road and courtyard, with occasional vines up the outer wall becoming a nuisance there.

NPC Interactions:

Murtagh, after his day in jail, was taken before the Guard Captain and warned against further actions to free Alayne, as once she's free, she's likely to slaughter any bystanders save her rescuer and her brother in an attempt at revenge.

Richter and Rei went out to the monastery and Richter got holy water and a cross to attempt to use an ability that produces what amounts to an Exorcism Rain. He attempted this shortly before midnight.

Nidhogg attempted to eat the goose in the zoo and failed miserably, getting eaten himself. Asch promptly informed Estinien over the journals and found out that eating the eyes of an Eorzean dragon gives you some measure of their powers. Watch out for the goose, everyone. (Additional witnesses include Livia and Sync; feel free to handwave seeing it.)

Explorations and Discoveries:

After his meeting with the captain, Murtagh hunted the library in search of more information on Zeph's binding. It's written in something called Sorrowspeak, an extremely dark magic, and it can only be removed by Zeph dying.

Syhrgeim Echo'd off the black dripping wall and had a rather disturbing vision. For those of you watching at home, Sync had previously discovered that the seven houses of the land came into being as part of a seal on something Really Nasty.
