|| MIDNIGHT 011: GENERAL
Before midnight, there is a commotion heard in the Storage Room that quickly moves to the Silver Bedroom. A few inhuman shrieks can be heard, while a few Guards stand at the ready along the entrances and exits from the narrow servant hallways. Their weapons seem to flicker with a blue-white holy fire, and they will try to redirect anyone heading that direction, but the altercation does not last long. As suddenly as they moved into position, they will disperse, two of them helping Richter back to his room.
One leaves a message posted on the board in the Common Room just before midnight:
"A threat to us all has gone to grounds in the tunnels below.
It will be weakened, but must be recaptured, or it may let something worse loose.
Volunteers confident in their abilities wanted to aid in the hunt. Gather at dawn in the hallways near the servant's quarters.
There may be other unknown dangers below."
Those dragon blooded and bonded will hear a soft, sibilant voice as midnight arrives. It sounds female, but there is enough growl to it that it could easily be male. The body resists, even as the soul has given up.
The words have the cadence of a spell, and almost as though it were summoned by them, the temperature in the basement plummets. Those who are within it will feel as though they have suddenly been dropped into an icy lake with no preparation, breath becomes easily visible in the air, sweat freezes on skin, water in pots. Even on the floor above, the icy air fills the lungs of those who are breathing, causing pain and immediate muscle cramps.
The door the Torture Chamber explodes outwards, shards of wood and metal digging into the walls, carving great gouges and punching holes into the stone. Before the dust has had time to clear, a dragon stumbles free of the room. It is easily the size of an elephant, though its wingspan would place it still large if it was able to stop stepping on them. Its scales are a clear, icy blue with darker blues under its neck and down its stomach, and the wings are a deep shade of blue-green. It is badly injured, blood dripping from wounds on its neck and side. Its head waves back and forth as though it is confused, its jaws hanging open as though it does not quite know how to control it, claws carve deeper gouges into the floor, and it screams. The sound cuts through even the most layered protection, vibrating the small bones of the inner ear until it is felt as much as it is heard. It screams its pain, its outrage, and keens a sense of loss that rakes across the ears of those that hear it.
The Executioner comes to reclaim his escaped victim, but even in its confusion the dragon seems to recognize its tormentor, and a swift swat of his clawed foot sends the figure against the wall with a crunch of breaking bones. The dragon screams again, and ice begins to fill the halls, thick layers of the substance coating the walls and floor until nothing is left of the stone.
The dragon seems intent on leaving, and stumbles away from its former prison in the direction of the Stairs. It seems to have trouble seeing, or perhaps it is simply disoriented, and anyone standing in its way might find themselves trampled as it goes past them. It does recognize those dragon blooded and dragon bonded it seems to call to its aid, but the most they can get is a pause as it tries to see them. The ice thickens where it walks.
Inside the Torture chamber, the Executioner brings himself to his feet, balancing unsteadily. He seems winded by the blow from the dragon, and even more obvious is the gash on his chest from the dragon's claw, a deep cut open from his shoulder down to the pale skin of his stomach, his blood coming out thick and dark.
He brings a hand up to the top of the wound and hisses through his too-long teeth as he presses his palm against the skin and starts to seal the cut close with a burn that makes the chamber reek of scorched flesh. The heat is right there in his hand; he needs no materials. But it will no doubt be a painful process nonetheless.
Though the dragon seemed intent on escape without really paying much attention, it has so damaged the room that those who were contained within it will find it easy to escape. The Woman who was in the kitchen before lays limply on a frame, metal boots completely enclosing her legs. She seems incapable of rising, though the hot metal has been cooled by the ice.
Murtagh and Thorn will find that their chains have been ripped from the walls, though their bodies are still badly damaged. They are able to leave the room.
Those who were in the midst of rescuing the Prisoner may find themselves overrun by a young, clearly pained dragon intent on going through them to get out of the basement. The creature is so large that it scrapes against the walls, making it difficult to move past it.
Terra will have a moment to respond realizing that the beast is about to stagger free of its containment, and will find himself able to avoid the ice sheets as they form on the floor.
Sync, Luke, Hope, Estinien and Soma will find themselves directly in the path of the staggering dragon as it barrels towards them. They will need to move quickly to avoid being trapped in the waves of ice sweeping forward across the floor. If they do not, they will be stepped upon.
One of the guards moves swiftly towards them, though he seems intent on the prisoner, picking the man from the floor so that the ice sheets do not enclose him. The guard does not move from the cell, and the man merely moans within his arms, head lolling loosely on his neck. The guard is struggling to support him and also avoid the sheets of ice coming towards them.
Two of the Smaller Dragons follow in the larger ones wake, clearly caught up in its panic and unable to break themselves out of it. Murtagh will likely notice that his small swarm of dragons seem somehow larger, as though they have gained a foot or so in size. Nidhogg will find that he has also grown a little bit larger.
For both Ysayle and Estinien the dragon's call awakes within them a strange, unnerving prickling along their backs and a burning in their eyes. Though they will find that the darkness of the basement seems somehow much clearer now, and the smell of the blood much stronger.
Outside, the storm that has been gathering finally breaks. Great spears of ice fall from the clouds, they are sharp and large, easily splitting trees and shattering some of the stone Gargoyles. The sky is full of dark, boiling clouds, lit occasionally by flashes of fire and forks of lightening. Those not under cover will quickly be killed.
The Garden is untouched by the death falling from the sky, and any plants hanging over the wall that are damaged seem to quickly heal. A few of the braver chickens even cluck challenges at the storm.
The ice spears last for an hour, and leave the grounds and village strewn with chunks of ice. An icy rain sweeps in, following behind, clinging to branches and walls of the village. An unseasonable cold lingers, and the rumble of the storm does not seem quick to leave the grounds behind.
The Weaver and the Carpenter are standing just inside the outer doorway, his arms looped around her protectively. She's huddled against his shoulder, face hidden from view and entire body shivering. They have been joined by the woman from the Porcelain room, and all watch the fall of ice just outside the door. The Cat Woman has a small pack tucked against her back, a short woven poncho with a hood pulled to frame her head.
The Cook has joined them, staring at the wildness of the storm.
Strangely, the Apothecary seems entirely untouched by the full fury of the storm, and is merely wet after the fury has been spent.

MIDNIGHT 011 PLOTTING POST
MURTAGH + NPC??
I'm too lazy to switch accountsMurtagh will be pursuing the ice dragon since I think it may be Zeph?? People are welcome to run across him. Flag me down here to plot or whatever. He was inside the torture room for the latter part of the day and early night as well.
EDIT: Actually he may quickly try and free the woman on the table before he does pursue the dragon.

Not only because he's been itching for something to do, mind you.

But will hopefully be helping Kuja with survivors?

I'll need to talk to Hope, Soma, and Walter with him. He may also stop to chip out the guard and the former prisoner.
Arietta was in the stables (probably with Hibari) when the ice storm hit. She is stranded for a little while, but eventually gets inside.
I'd like her to have a chat with Sync and Luke, and will likely be putting up a post if Fort and Pronnie are ok with it.
Want to do anything post midnight with these two? Let me know here!
Edit: Luke died, so Arietta may only talk to Sync. Either way is fine by me.
YSAYLE + EXECUTIONER
a) Follow the dragons
b) ... attack the Executioner
First things first: She's putting up a thick wall of ice to shield the prisoner and the guard with him in order to protect them. Not sure... if it will stop the spread of the other ice, maybe that's the intention! Alternatively: ice wall to enclose the Executioner in with her because man, she has been waiting for this guy!
I'm leaning more towards option B if allowed, since there's a lot of people who need to escape.
Ysayle will insist that those who don't want to die should leave and help those who are incapable of moving on their own. If need be, she will declare she's a Primal (a goddess, will likely be the term she uses) in order to incite fear.
(edit) She will be creating a sword like she uses as Shiva.

And I just rolled a 3 for an attack.
Ysayle really has it out for this guy...no subject
But hey, the stables are dry and warm and mostly safe!

Re: MIDNIGHT 011 PLOTTING POST
Thancred is basically going to be dropped back in from his canon update because I was awful at tagging and it's eaiser than handwaving what he's been DOING while I've been away from things, and has an open post!
