The clock in the Parlor begins to chime, and as it moves a strange white mist begins to pour into the house through the face. The fire burns the mist away in patches, catching it in eddies around the fireplace, but the mist progress slowly into the house. Here, the boy Lock appears again. He seems to be waiting for something.
The fire grows hotter as dusk fades, further inhibiting the mist. The fireflies enter the house, zooming under the locked door in the Study once more. One pauses at the boy standing in the center of the room, perching briefly on his finger. He murmurs a name and the firefly joins the swarm once more, leaving the boy to wait for whatever comes from him.
Should anyone attempt to follow the fireflies, they will find the door still solidly locked, though the sound of a woman talking to herself can be heard through the door. She does not seem to inclined to respond to any requests, but perhaps a bit of persistence might find a solution.
As the fireflies fade, four of the Phantasms return to the house, encircling the boy. One seems to be holding a baby, strangely enough, and though the infant fusses there seems to be no cause for alarm in any of their frames. The boy sighs, head bowing, and offers one his hand. The Phantasms leave the house the same way they came, vanishing with child and infant in tow through the floors. They will not be seen again.
For the sensitive, and the normal house guests, the building will feel increasingly cold as night deepens. Anyone attempting to peer out the windows will find them covered with frost. By midnight, the temperature within the house will stand at -11C/12.4F. Remember that very few rooms in the house have electricity, it's likely better to dress for the cold and huddle close.
In the Study, a rather plain photographer appears, holding a rather old fashioned camera in his hands, as he seems to have lost the bag for it. He does not speak, but he watches all who enter with interest. Occasionally he will wander from the room, and explore the rest of the house, taking the occasional photo, but he always returns to his starting point in due time.
The Burning Man returns to his haunt with a low moan, crouching in the blaze and watching anyone who comes into the room. He seems difficult to trigger tonight, not moving from the blaze unless someone creates any sort of heat including hot water, turning on the stove, or lighting a match outside of a safe room, or walking within a six foot radius of his fireplace.
From the basement, a new creature appears, trudging through the halls upstairs until it arrives in the Blue Kitchen. There, she sits firmly in the room, watching both doors intently. In order to enter, one will have to face the challenge of the Sphinx.
The Mute Ghost Girl returns once more to the Yellow Bedroom. She doesn’t move, and looks quiet alive, sitting on the edge of the bed with a shawl dropped around her shoulders, holding the stuffed bunny. Occasionally the Little Girl can also be found in this room, sitting in the chair at the desk.
In the Cherry Hallway, a tray has suddenly appeared, boasting a tea set ready for use. It is complete with loose tea leaves, milk, sugar, scones with jam and clotted cream, cucumber sandwiches, and several small cakes. Everything is placed on ornate fine china. The water in the kettle is still boiling. It's as though someone laid out a tea for a guest, and then simply wandered away. The pot will remain full of boiling water throughout the night, and drinking from it or using the water will not trigger the Burning Man.
The music drifting up into the Loft Bedroom is periodically interrupted by sharp, dissonant noise, as if someone has quite abruptly pressed too many mismatched keys at once.
As the mist drifts deeper into the house, the houseguests might notice that they are beginning to feel afraid. As though nothing they do to protect themselves will do any good. This effect extends even to those incapable of feeling fear. Breathing through something seems to help a little, but it doesn’t halt the effects completely.
The tub in the Glass Bathroom has filled with water, heralding the return of the Drowned Woman, though she seems to be more interested in the flashlight and the light it offers the hall than any of the house guests. She will remain in the hallway outside of the Glass Bathroom, chasing the flashlight.
The Wallcrawlers have returned and occupy The Maid Hallway and the Dirt Hallway, they are joined by the Chestmouth Monsters. This makes for a lethal combination, as the wallcrawlers will snatch anyone who moves too close to the walls and the Chestmouths, though slow, will try to grab anyone near the center of the hall.
The Gardner's Wing, though seemingly safe, brings with it it's own horrors. Something stalks the interior door, ratting it frequently as though trying to enter. Often whatever it is can be heard pounding or scrabbling at the wood as though this might help somehow. It does not seem to be able to open the door, but the shaking becomes violent enough that at times it seems almost ready to simply come through it rather than bother with knobs. Anyone entering the Light Bedroom or the Floating Hallway will see the shadow of something incredibly large flying periodicity overhead. Though the creature does not make itself known, it is still large enough to unnerve the unwary.
The white mist, as well as making it harder to see in the lightless darkness, helps obscure the monsters haunting the night. The Lady In White returns, drifting through the mist like a wraith, impossibly beautiful and bright in the darkness. Though she appears as passive as she did the night before, anyone who encounters her will feel themselves drawn to her, as though she alone might bring them safety in this silent night.
Another ghost stalks the hall, a man in armor carrying a sword. The Dragoon strikes with little warning, and then vanishes once more into the mist.
The Doll Bathroom begins to fill with Shadows the moment night falls, these shadows are just as hostile as they were the night before and stepping into the bathroom invites certain death.
The hellhounds have returned to the halls, passive no more. They will attack any freshly injured person, but will not bother anyone injured in nights past or during the day.
The safe rooms tonight are the Open Bathroom, The Gardener's Wing, The Doctor's Office and the Observatory.

ooc: Trying something new, the above maps are the danger areas. We'll see how it works out and if it is a helpful tool for everyone playing. Just a reminder, as the poll has been overwhelmingly in support of the three week night, the next update will be on December 23rd. Please ask the mods if you want to thread with any of the ghosts and everyone have a safe, happy, and enjoyable holiday. Pass the eggnog!
